Five Tips For Glowy Skin Like Gigi

Let's be real, who doesn't wanna be more like Gigi? Girl is slaying as of late: killer street style? Check. Insane spread in Vogue with her beau? Check. Ringing in her 21st birthday aboard a PJ with Taylor Swift? You get the picture. Yep, we'll have what she's having--and please make ours a double. (Insert prayer hands emoji times ten).

Ok so maybe going all-out Gigi isn't as easy as it looks. After all, she's kind of prepared her entire life for things like rocking the VS runway and making red carpets her b*tch. But there IS one thing you can do to emulate her effortless, goddess-like vibe, and that's getting her signature Southern California girl glow. And with summer right around the corner there's really no better time to embrace fresh-faced, dewy skin. Here are five tips for getting a glow like It-girl of the moment Gigi Hadid.

Do It In Your Sleep

But really. This step is so easy, you can literally do it in your sleep. There are tons of sleeping facials and overnight creams on the market as of late, but we're impartial to this one by Tony Moly. Aside from the insanely cute packaging, this sleeping pack goes on like a heavy cream, and when you wake up you'll be greeted with super moisturized skin.

Just Add Oil

We were first introduced to this trick by blogger Lauryn Evarts, who's behind The Skinny Confidential. Mixing a drop of oil into your foundation adds the prettiest amount of sheen to the finished product. Lauryn suggests rose hips oil, but we've tried with coconut oil, vitamin E oil, and a few others, and have loved the result each time. Just make sure to find an oil that works with your skin!

Highlight Twice

Using a cream or powder highlighter is a surefire way to get a glow. Conventional wisdom tells you to add it after the rest of your makeup has been applied, but we like using it both under AND on top of our foundation--real daredevils, we know. Applying highlighter under your foundation gives that "lit from within" glow, and finishing with a second layer will help to make sure it lasts all day long.

Puttin' On The Spritz

Similar to sleeping masks, face sprays have been gaining serious traction in the beauty world. There are so many options out there, but we love the idea of opting for something a little more natural and making it ourselves. Here's our version of a DIY green tea face mist--keep it in your fridge and spray before applying your makeup, after spending time in the sun or whenever your skin needs a little pick-me-up.

Rest Up & Drink Up

This one feels less like a tip and more like something you've heard from Mom hundreds of times--but it's totally true. Healthy skin starts with getting adequate sleep and staying hydrated. So next time you hit snooze and have to sneak into work a few minutes late, you've got an excuse: "Sorry, it was for my skin."
