5 Things You Must Do In SD This Summer

Hey girls!! We hope you've recovered from the long weekend and enjoyed the little break from reality. Here at VDV, we can't wait for summer to officially begin. Que the mini dresses and Levi's shorts ;) All we can hope for is that the warm weather will finally start to kick in around here...But in the meantime, we've picked out our top 5 things that you absolutely HAVE to do/ see/ eat this summer.

1. Go to the Little Italy Farmer's Market.

It's open from 8am to 2pm every Saturday, and is hands down the best farmers market in San Diego. There are so many organic produce options, as well as yummy things like fresh olive oil, cheese and salsa. And to top it all off, they've got some amazing meals you can enjoy while you're walking around such as tamales, crepes, poke and so much more. Use it as an excuse to explore a new part of town you might not frequent very often!

2. Eat at Cloak & Petal.

This new Japanese spot is to die for. It has a beautiful ambiance with cherry blossom trees in the middle of the bar. From buttery sashimi to exquisite duck, they have a very unique menu. It has a twist on traditional japanese items and everything they serve is meant to be shared, so you can have a little bit of everything.

3. See a movie at the Rooftop Cinema Club.

Whether you want to hang with your girlfriends or go on a romantic date, seeing a movie at the Rooftop Cinema Club at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in the Gaslamp Quarter is a must. From new movies to classics, they've got something everyone will want to see. Be sure to get your ticket before it's too late!

4. Eat at Bencotto.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant I've been to in San Diego during my four years I've lived here. If you're a seafood lover and adventurous eater, I recommend the Gnocchi Neri. It is homemade black squid ink gnocchi with shrimp, covered in a delicious lobster bisque sauce. It is phenomenal. Definitely make a reservation beforehand, as it is a popular spot!

5. Go to Wonderspaces.

Wonderspaces showcases artwork from around the world to new cities. The art installations are always changing, so you never know what you're going to see. It will be here on June 8th, and presale tickets are already available. Take advantage of this temporary exhibit!

We hope we've given you some fun and different ways to spend your time this summer.
