Staycation: Where To Stay

Hey babes! We hope you're enjoying your first taste of summer this far. Living in San Diego is just as amazing as it might seem, but sometimes we forget just how amazing it is. We thought we'd give you some tips on how to enjoy our beautiful home as a "staycation." Here are some of our favorite places to stay for a weekend getaway.

1. Fairmont Grand Del Mar

Ranked #1 luxury hotel in San Diego, the Fairmont Grand Del Mar is a vacationer’s (or staycationer’s) paradise.  It offers a variety of accommodations and activities including golf, fine dining, and top of the line spas. The Grand Golf Club is famous for its Tom-Fazio designed course, PGA-certified instructors, and elegant Clubhouse.  The hotel also features its signature restaurants, the Addison and Amaya. Enjoy Grand Chef William Bradley’s approach to cooking at the Addison and brunch in style at the Amaya. One of only 60 Forbes Five-Star spas in the world, the Spa at the Grand Del Mar offers an array of spa treatments, relaxation pools, wet and dry saunas, and lounge rooms with complimentary teas, seasonal snacks, and handcrafted chocolates.  This is the perfect hotel to get away and treat yourself.

2. L’Auberge Del Mar

The AAA Four Diamond award-winning resort offers its guests an authentic Southern California feel with amazing ocean views, open air rooms, cozy-stylish decor, and warm customer service.  Even better, it’s dog friendly! Treat your pooch to a chef-prepared meal and a day at the dog beach, where dogs can run and play in the waves, and take hikes with their owners. L’Auberge also offers fine dining at their award-winning, signature restaurant KITCHEN 1540 and personalized treatments at the spa. Whether you choose to explore Del Mar to shop and dine, stroll down 15th Street to enjoy the sun and take a dip in the ocean, or simply enjoy all that the resort has to offer, L’Auberge is the perfect place to get the relaxing, so-cal experience.

3. The Pendry

In the heart of San Diego’s famous Gaslamp Quarter, the Pendry is a new, modern-traditional style hotel that offers fine dining and drinks, downtown convenience, and a revitalizing spa. Placed in the center of the city, the hotel’s location allows guests to enjoy a variety of excellent restaurants, stylish shops, and vibrant nightlife. The hotel neighbors Petco Park, the home of the Padres, and guests can enjoy a lively and interactive baseball game. Just a short walk or bike ride away is Little Italy, which is home to a small collection of San Diego’s best restaurants and breweries. A bit farther north lies North Park, a community that offers hip boutiques, art galleries, studios, cafés, and breweries. The Pendry is best suited for fast-paced individuals who enjoy up-beat city life.

Be sure to follow along @ShopVanDeVort as our owner and boss babe, Andrea Van De Vort, has her own staycation at The Pendry this weekend for Father's Day!

We can't wait to see everyone's staycation's in San Diego this summer ;)
