Year In Review: Our Favorite Moments of 2014
2014 was a big year & we loved every moment! To officially close this chapter, we wanted to share our favorite fashion moments and mile-stones of the year with you! 2014 started with a bang last January with the launch of our Van De Vort website! We officially launched the site on January 27th, 2014, so that makes us almost 1 year old! With the launch of our site we have been able to connect with VDV Babes across the world, and we couldn't be more grateful for those relationships! We love every single one of you and it has been so much fun connecting over a love of fashion. 
In July, we celebrated our 1 year anniversary of our Del Mar store location opening! This was a huge moment for us and we loved celebrating with our friends, family, clients, and supporters! We had huge teepee...obviously, and a bunch of our girls created hand-made flower headbands. Amber Farr of Flynn Skye dropped by with her daughter Flynn Skye herself! Flynn ran around playing with Novella Royale, the daughter of Novella Royale creator Mary Myers. To say that the night was a magical evening would be an understatement. We think our photo-booth photos from that night speak for themselves...
Shortly after our 1 year anniversary, in September, we decided to undergo a huge renovation! We expanded our store location to more than double in size! After many long hours and help from friends and family, the new Van De Vort store was open! We expanded so we could give you ladies more room to shop, try on clothes, take selfies in the dressing rooms, and hang out with us. One of the coolest parts of the reno was that we finally had a place for all of our treasures collected over the years. We had skulls from our trips to Gypsy Land in Palm Springs and chairs flown in from the Philippines. We wanted our store to be as unique and beautiful as our girls that shop with us.
In October we unveiled our biggest lookbook to date, "Desert Mirage", for Winter 2014. This time, we flew to a special location in New Mexico called White Sands. Basically i'ts the closest thing to heaven on earth. For miles and miles all you can see is beautiful white dunes and bright blue sky. This was the location we had always wanted to visit, so it was amazing to finally see it in person. We brought our favorite girls Rocky Barnes and Alden Steimle to model our winter products. We had a lookbook launch party at a local art gallery and got to celebrate our hard work paying off! It was so much fun seeing our lookbook images all over the walls. At one point there was a flash mob outside the art gallery and things got pretty crazy! To end the year we thought we would share some of our best selling pieces of 2014 and favorite fashion moments! This year was the year of the For Love and Lemons Antigua Dress. Seriously, we couldn't keep this thing in stock, and ladies, it's looking like this trend will continue far into 2015! The Following is a list of our best selling pieces of 2014: For Love and Lemons Skivvies, Novella Royale Janis Bells, Stone Cold Fox Holy Tube, Flynn Skye Perfect Pants, Spell Kimonos, and of course One Teaspoon shorts. 2014 was an amazing year for boho-inspired jewelry like our designers Child of Wild and Vanessa Mooney. 2014 was totally the year of The Romper and The Kimono...some of our favs were Spell, Flynn Skye, and Stone Cold fox. We also can't forget to mention our favorite 2014 accessory Flash Tattoos. We have a strong feeling all these amazing best-sellers will continue to be best selling pieces in 2015!
