What To Wear To The Pacific Classic

While we'd never turn down a beach day, and are no strangers to Sunday Funday, we are big believers that a San Diego summer isn't complete until you've spent a few Saturdays at the Del Mar Races. If you've yet to go, we highly recommend heading to the track this Saturday, August 20th for The Pacific Classic. Considering there are only three Saturdays remaining in the racing season, The Pacific Classic is a can't-miss event. With over $1 million at stake, this upcoming race is one of the last chances this season to experience all the historic Del Mar Thoroughbred Club has to offer.

And though Opening Day is decidedly the most dressy day of the racing season, The Pacific Classic remains Del Mar's richest and most prestigious race--so cutoffs won't cut it this weekend. Here are a few outfit ideas for the upcoming event, and it's all available at Shop VDV and VDV Del Mar.

For Love and Lemons Saffron Mini Dress, Del Mar Pacific Classic Outfit

When picking the perfect outfit for the Del Mar Races, remember that it's all in the details. This Saffron Mini Dress by For Love and Lemons is made from silk satin with floral burnout detailing, billowy bell sleeves and a plunging V neckline with self ties. The short hem makes it perfect for a sunny day spent outside, and the floral lace trim adds the sweetest finishing touch. We love this paired with round, retro-inspired sunnies.

For Love and Lemons Percephone Top and Skirt

We're obsessed with two piece sets, and this one by For Love and Lemons is especially fitting for an event like The Pacific Classic. The embroidered florals, inset lattice trim and ruffled trim on the Percephone Embroidered Top elevate an otherwise casual crop top. Paired with a matching skirt, we plan to wear this with a stacked heel sandal at the races, then switch into white tennies for a bit of bar hopping afterward.
